HEALTHCARE
Smart Energy.
Healthier Outcomes.
WHY ENERGY STRATEGY IS A HEALTH STRATEGY
Hospitals use nearly 2.5x more energy per square foot than commercial buildings. With aging infrastructure, climate vulnerability, and a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape, healthcare systems need more than maintenance — they need transformation. Veregy helps healthcare providers:

Lower energy spend by 20–40% through efficiency retrofits and renewable integration.

Maintain compliance with decarbonization and seismic standards.

Enhance patient comfort and safety with upgraded HVAC, building automation, and improved indoor air quality.

Access Funding and incentives, including IRA tax incentives and state energy grants to offset capital costs.
HEALTH UPGRADES THAT SAVE

ELECTRICAL
Upgrading inefficient lighting is one of the simplest and most effective methods of reducing energy use and cost. Our expert lighting engineers will design a solution designed to save money and increase occupant comfort.
BENCHMARKING
A properly controlled building is more efficient and easier to manage saving on energy and operations and maintenance. We design and install non-propriety building automation systems, so clients are not locked in with any one equipment manufacturer. Using our industry leading Digital Services, we can help you integrate your entire facility into a smart building of the future with seamless operations.
MECHANICAL
Old and inefficient heating and cooling systems are one of the biggest drivers of wasted energy and money. Our talented and experienced engineers will evaluate your current equipment and implementation and design a turnkey solution including retrofits, replacement, recommissioning, or installing all new equipment.
INDOOR AIR QUALITY
Even though your building’s indoor air quality operations are not as easily seen by the public, they are critical for hospital functionality, safety, and and patient care. This includes proper ventilation and filtration using controls and monitoring.
CONTROLS
A properly controlled building is more efficient and easier to manage saving on energy and operations and maintenance. We design and install non-propriety building automation systems, so clients are not locked in with any one equipment manufacturer. Using our industry leading Digital Services, we can help you integrate your entire facility into a smart building of the future with seamless operations.
SOLAR / BATTERY STORAGE
Along with reducing energy use, Solar and Battery storage systems allow you to create your own. Our industry leading solar engineers have the experience to design an efficient, cost effective, solar solution for your facilities, along with specialized resiliency strategies for hospitals.
BUILDING ENVELOPE
A properly sealed building means you’re only maintaining the temperature inside and not the whole outdoors. With decades of experience in building envelope solutions you can count on us to design and implement a system that keeps dollars from leaking out.

HEALTHCARE FACILITIES WE SERVE
University of CA Merced
Veregy worked with the University of California Merced to commission credit tasks associated with LEED® for the New Construction rating system. Additional commissioning services were performed for campus support facilities including a greenhouse, competition pool, competition sports fields and parking lot lighting.
UCLA
The three primary objectives of the project were to decrease operations and maintenance effort and costs, increase indoor environmental quality and occupant comfort, and realize immediate and long-term energy savings.
Mayer's Memorial District
The $2.5 million project includes a solar grid with provisions for future battery storage to enhance energy reliability and grid independence further. Over 25 years, the project is projected to save MMHD more than $5.6 million in electricity costs, supported by over $1.5 million in combined state and federal rebates. These savings are expected to yield a net benefit of $4.65 million to the healthcare district, reinforcing its commitment to long-term fiscal responsibility and environmental stewardship.
Columbus Eye Center
Veregy collaborated with Alliance Realty Group, the Property Management Company for The Eye Center to address Building Automation issues they had been experiencing since the facility opened in 2005. Veregy designed and implemented a Turnkey Energy Solution for this 100,000 sq. ft. medical and surgical facility. In addition to resolving Building Automation concerns, a strategic plan was implemented to make upgrades to the surgical floor.
Lexington Medical Center
Veregy designed a new central energy plant building with 110 PPH of steam boiler capacity and 11,000-tons of chilled water capacity. The plant also includes 6,000 kw of emergency generators for the campus expandable to 14,000 kw, along with a fuel oil system sized to handle both the generators and boilers.
