Tom is Midstate Energy’s, now Veregy first Engineer. As a founder of Midstate Energy, a Veregy Company, he brings rich engineering solutions to client facilities and systems. Currently, he is leading development and support for pre-and post-construction projects. He has more than 30 years of experience in designing and constructing energy systems. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.

Scott Conner
Scott’s responsibilities include construction management, field coordination, and negotiating contracts with subcontractors. He has 34 years of experience in HVAC and electrical construction services, including project management and quality control program implementation. Scott’s education includes the Universal CFC License, OSHA 510 certification and multiple professional contracting licenses, as well as attendance at the State University of New York at Oswego.

Chris is responsible for the Western Region Service Department. As Director of Energy Management Services, he implements, schedules and is responsible for quality control on all Energy Management Services projects that Veregy implements in the Western Region. He also trains and mentors apprentices in the industry. He has attended both Arizona State University and Mesa Community College.

Chris has been in HVAC since the age of 12 working alongside his father. Once his father retired, Chris took over the business at Four Star, a Veregy Company. Cory Scamihorn
Cory manages the marketing initiatives for Veregy’s Western Region, including developing thought leadership for our clients, networking organizations, tradeshows, website, social media, marketing campaigns, and proposals. Cory spent time in the U.S. House of Representatives as a congressional intern which provided great insight into the challenges our K12, local and state government clients face on a daily basis, specifically as it relates to resiliency.
Cory has a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Government from Arizona State University.

Paul Benson, Sr.
Paul Benson has been in the construction industry for over 25 years. Most recently, he has been the Regional Safety Director of the largest steel erector/fabricator in the US. He utilizes his knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience to develop practical and compliant programs and policies. His responsibilities, in part, will be to maintain a safe and healthy job site, work with local subcontractors to ensure they follow Veregy company policies and work with National Insurance and Risk programs to ensure compliance and risk reduction.
Paul has a certificate of completion with the International Associate of Bridge, Structural and Ornamental Iron Workers, as well as being a certified OSHA Authorized Construction Trainer. He is also an accredited Safety Manager Specialist, from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.

With over 20 years of experience in the energy industry Staffan Akerstrom has extensive experience in energy efficiency, power generation, renewables, and energy software-as-a-service. Staffan’s work has included program management, project development, operations management, project/construction management, and product development.
Staffan is a co-founder of Enpowered Solutions, now a Veregy company, and has been an invited panel member in many energy and sustainability forums including the International Dairy Foods Association, Calit2 at UC Irvine, Pacific Region CHP Applications Center, and FMA. Staffan has been quoted in several publications such as Food Engineering and Distributed Energy on topics of sustainability, water management, distributed generation, and energy management. He has also served as a host of a Webcast discussing Energy Intelligence.
Previously Staffan was the co-founder of EPS Corp, where he commercialized one of the first real-time sustainability software-as-a-service platforms and was also EVP-GM for the enterprise energy management business of Ameresco Intelligent Systems. He has developed multiple onsite generation projects of various technologies nationally, including biogas and natural gas-fired IC engines, gas turbines, and also photovoltaic systems. His energy efficiency expertise includes HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, steam, and hot water systems for both commercial and industrial facilities.

Shiva Subramanya
With over 20 years of broad experience in the energy industry, Shiva Subramanya is a seasoned energy executive with expertise in technical development, product development, energy engineering, and project/construction management of many projects. A highly regarded energy professional, Shiva co-founded EPS Corporation and Enpowered Solutions, now a Veregy Company and is a frequent speaker on wide-ranging energy and environmental issues across the country. He also has published papers in the energy industry.
Most recently Shiva was EVP-GM at Ameresco where he ran the energy efficiency and demand response business for Ameresco Intelligent Systems. His responsibilities included the development and design of the automated demand response business. His technical expertise includes cogeneration, refrigeration, boilers, HVAC, central plants, and controls.
Shiva’s impressive experience also includes responsibility for the design of software to control building management system response to real-time pricing signals from utilities. He was also instrumental in the development of an enterprise energy management software and automated demand response software for EPS Corp. He has also taught graduate-level energy courses at Portland State University.
Shiva earned a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is a also Certified Energy Manager, a member of ASHRAE, and the Association of Energy Engineers.

Shea Dibble
An experienced operations, demand-side management, energy regulatory and policy and strategic business development professional, Shea Dibble has over 20 years of experience in the energy and industrial/manufacturing market sectors. His 10-year career with the Sempra Energy utilities spanned several positions at Southern California Gas Company and later at San Diego Gas & Electric.
As SDG&E’s Energy Programs Supervisor, Shea directed staff in the deployment and administration of integrated energy efficiency and demand response programs and was the non-residential lead for the development of the California Energy Commission’s legislated Long Term Strategic Plan.
Shea served as a Sempra Energy Utility HVAC Lead for California’s Statewide Long Term Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan, and the Western HVAC Performance Alliance (WHPA) Steering Committee. He is a co-Founder of the Western HVAC Performance Alliance and PerformanceAlliance.org.
Most recently, Shea held the position of Associate Director of Business Development and later Associate Director of HVAC Program Operations for Portland Energy Conservation Inc. where he was responsible for strategic planning, client and customer care, program fulfillment and business development. He recently served as the Western HVAC Performance Alliance (WHPA) Co-Director and later as the WHPA’s Director of Regulatory and Policy.

Eric Spink
With over 20 years of experience in energy efficiency, renewable energy, engineering and control systems, Eric Spink has an in-depth expertise in project development and design, and project and services management. He has over ten years of executive management experience as vice president of a large energy services company, president of a renewable energy and control system integration company, and vice president and chief operating officer for a general engineering contractor.
He was responsible for running an enterprise energy management’s services group that consisted of a team of professional engineers, energy engineers, and energy analysts responsible for meeting or exceeding customers’ long-term sustainability and energy reduction goals and ensuring customer satisfaction. He has extensive experience in photovoltaic system design and installation, and control system design, programming, and integration. He has broad expertise in big data analytics and possesses a solid awareness and comprehension of its correlation with strategic business interests and everyday operations.

Lee Anne Dye
Lee Anne attended Ohio University and has been in the engineering industry since 1979. She joined Veregy in 2005, where she currently serves as General Manager for the East Engineering Group. Other responsibilities range from Project Executive on Healthcare projects to construction administration.
Lee Anne’s decades of experience in engineering consulting, construction administration and project design have given her a broad design skillset, which includes team building, lighting, general power, normal and emergency power distribution, utility coordination, fire alarm systems, nurse call and other low-voltage systems.
Her project management work includes contracts, owner programming, and communication processing between owner, architect and construction team.
At Veregy, Lee Anne gets to put her skills to use on high-caliber projects such as the Mental Health Hospitals, Crisis Centers, Medical Campuses and Ambulatory Care Facilities, educational facilities, retail spaces and other projects, but her true passion lies with collaboration of teams to make owner visions realities.
When she’s not busy overseeing financials and projects from pre-planning to ribbon-cutting, Lee Anne can be found cruising through the Hocking Hills area on the back of a Harley with friends or helping out family members on any home project that involves paint and power tools.

Doug serves as a Principal and Engineering Integration Manager with Veregy. Doug is involved in the day-to-day operations and business development efforts of the firm. Doug is a licensed professional engineer with registration in over 25 states. Doug is also a Certified Energy Manager through the Association of Energy Engineers, LEED Accredited Professional through the U.S. Green Building Council, and a Green Globes Professional through the Green Building Initiative.
Doug has spent most of his career in facilities operations and engineering – beginning in 1999 while in college working as a building HVAC mechanic in a hi-rise state office tower, then joining a large building automation company as a project manager and project engineer before joining Veregy in 2006. Serving as Principal Doug ensures superior engineering delivery across all of Veregy. Previous positions with Veregy include Associate Principal, Senior Associate / Division Leader, Engineering Manager, Mechanical Engineer, and Controls Engineer. Doug’s previous roles have enabled him to gain valuable experience in operations, design, management, and business development.
Doug leads a national Healthy Buildings Solution Team which includes individuals from across the country in operations, engineering, and project development focused on identifying and evaluating healthy building strategies and solutions. The team is focused on developing best practices for healthy, safe, and sustainable facilities.
Doug serves as a member of several civic, community, and industry organizations, including COGENCE Alliance, ASHRAE, International Code Council, Meals on Wheels, and others. He enjoys spending time with his family, is an active youth teacher and youth retreats director.
