Heliotech Solar Car Winner

Veregy is proud to celebrate the success of the Temple City High School Heliotech solar car team, which recently earned first place nationally with its four-seater solar-powered vehicle. The victory makes Heliotech a two-time national champion and reflects the innovation, teamwork, and sustainability-focused problem solving that today’s students will bring to the energy landscape of tomorrow.

Veregy is honored to have played a part in a student-led program that combines hands-on engineering, renewable-energy education, and real-world collaboration.

Learning Beyond the Classroom
The Heliotech solar car program gives students an opportunity to apply classroom learning to a complex, high-performance project. Designing, building, testing, and racing a solar-powered vehicle requires students to work across different disciplines.

The team’s four-seater vehicle demonstrates how renewable energy can power transportation while challenging students to think critically about efficiency, design, and the practical role of clean energy in daily life. Through the process, students gain more than technical knowledge. They develop the problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and leadership skills needed to navigate an evolving energy economy.

For Veregy, supporting programs like Heliotech aligns with our commitment to helping communities create more sustainable, resilient futures. Investments in energy infrastructure are essential, but so is investing in the people who will imagine, operate, and advance the next generation of clean-energy solutions.

A National Win Powered by Teamwork
Heliotech’s first-place finish is a significant accomplishment. Competing at the national level demands disciplined preparation, careful engineering, and a shared commitment to continuous improvement. The team’s achievement also reinforces what can happen when students have access to meaningful STEM experiences, supportive educators, community partners, and resources that help turn ambitious ideas into reality.

Veregy’s sponsorship helped provide resources for the team to compete at the highest level while advancing its mission to pair quality engineering with sustainable energy solutions. We congratulate every student, advisor, mentor, family member, and supporter who helped make this championship season possible.
