Veregy and CORAS Host Golf Outing Benefiting the Appalachian Children Coalition

June 10, 2024

This year’s Annual Coalition of Rural and Appalachian Schools (CORAS) Golf Outing was the largest tournament in recent years as 100 golfers and over 30 sponsors came together to raise over $6,000 to benefit the Appalachian Children Coalition.

About the Appalachian Children Coalition
The Appalachian Children Coalition is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the health and well-being of the region’s children through collective advocacy and strategic investments. The Coalition’s membership includes behavioral health, K-12 education, and partner organizations that serve 32 counties in Ohio. According to the U.S. Census data, this includes about 207,000 children, and over 135,000 children enrolled in 187 school districts. Learn more: https://www.appchildren.org/

The outing, coordinated by Veregy in collaboration with CORAS, took place on June 5 at Eaglesticks Golf Club in Zanesville, Ohio. It included breakfast, 18 holes of golf for the 25 foursomes, lunch, an awards presentation, a CORAS meeting, and dinner. Prizes were awarded to teams earning first, second, third, and last place as well as 6 on-course skill competitions.

“I cannot tell you how much we appreciated the opportunity to participate and to be chosen as benefactors of the event. We’ve committed to make sure every dollar of the gift you provided yesterday will go to support programs for kids and families. Having CORAS and Veregy as supporting partners is so important to us and we look forward to long relationships going forward.”

– Randy Leite, Ph.D., Executive Director, Appalachian Children Coalition

“Terrific job organizing every aspect of the outing. Everyone that I spoke with really enjoyed themselves. We can’t thank you and CORAS and Veregy enough for your support to the Appalachian Children Coalition. Our organizations have a common focus, facilitating positive change in kids. What a great partnership!”
