MBS International Airport Projects

MBS International Airport is committed to enhancing amenities while keeping the environment in mind. The Airport is engaged in a multi-phase project with Veregy to provide solar covered parking, electric vehicle charging, and electric aircraft charging, all while reducing the Airport’s environmental impact.

Phase 1

Phase 1 included the installation of a 342 kW solar carport system and infrastructure for up to six Level 2 EV charging stations in the rental car return lot. These solutions reduce costs, enhance customer amenities, improve sustainability, and generate additional revenue for the airport.

Phase 2

Phase 2 includes solar carports for the short-term parking lot and ground mounted solar arrays for the administration building and airfield electric vault. It also includes an EV charging infrastructure system with Level 1, 2, and DC fast chargers for automobiles and a beta charger for EV aircraft charging.

Once complete, Phase 2 will provide the airport with an additional 850 kW of solar and 25 EV charging systems, further increasing the airport’s utility savings, customer amenities, sustainability, and revenue generation levels.
