Project Implementation

The project portfolio below is a sampling that highlights Shiva Subramanya’s contributions to our clients’ energy efficiency initiatives, showcasing his leadership in advancing impactful, community-focused solutions. Each engagement demonstrates our role in guiding clients from initial assessment through design, implementation, and ongoing support, ensuring long-term performance, cost savings, and value for the communities they serve.

COMMUNITY REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

Shiva played a key role in supporting a long-term modernization program for Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, helping the hospital address aging infrastructure, improve reliability, and advance energy performance. His work contributed to major initiatives such as central plant replacement, lighting upgrades, energy benchmarking, financial modeling, and cogeneration management services, all planned to maximize funding and minimize disruption to patient care. The program is expected to deliver significant long-term savings while supporting regulatory compliance and more efficient hospital operations.

The geothermal system significantly reduced energy use and fossil fuel consumption—by up to 70% compared to traditional systems—by leveraging the Earth’s natural thermal properties. Building on the success of Phase One, Phase Two extended improvements throughout the courthouse interior. Enhancements included plaster repair, new flooring, repainting, restoration of historic trim and lighting, restroom upgrades, and the installation of occupancy sensors. Veregy’s comprehensive approach improved comfort, efficiency, and cost savings while honoring the courthouse’s historical integrity.

RONALD REAGAN UCLA MEDICAL CENTER

Shiva supported a $1.6 million energy optimization project at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, one of the region’s premier healthcare facilities. As part of a broader UC/CSU energy partnership program, his work contributed to a comprehensive retro-commissioning and monitoring-based commissioning effort designed to improve system performance, reduce operational costs, and enhance patient comfort. The project included detailed energy modeling, an ASHRAE Level II audit, and implementation of advanced control strategies across HVAC and central plant systems. Through ongoing monitoring and analytics, the program continues to identify inefficiencies and drive performance improvements without disrupting hospital operations.

PLUMAS DISTRICT HOSPITAL AND MAYERS MEMORIAL HEALTHCARE DISTRICT

Shiva supported critical infrastructure and energy resilience projects for rural healthcare providers including Plumas District Hospital and Mayers Memorial Healthcare District in California. His work helped deliver on-site solar generation, HVAC and lighting upgrades, and comprehensive energy conservation measures designed to reduce costs, improve reliability, and enhance patient comfort. At Mayers Memorial, he contributed to the implementation of a 530-kW solar PV system projected to generate significant long-term savings and reduce grid dependence, while at Plumas, his work supported a broader modernization effort including solar canopy design, HVAC replacement, and high-efficiency lighting upgrades. Across both projects, Shiva helped coordinate complex implementation efforts to ensure improvements were delivered without disruption to hospital operations or patient care.
