Since 2015, the Avondale Elementary School District and Midstate have worked together to provide efficient energy to the district. We began by engaging in a $5.5 million project that provided new HVAC, interior lighting, exterior lighting, and plumbing efficiencies throughout our nine school campuses and three district buildings. Part of the project was for the district to receive energy rebates from various utilities. We were estimated to receive approximately $250,000 in rebates. Through Midstate’s efforts, we actually received more than $450,000 in rebates. Midstate has been truly wonderful to work with. I find them to be a company of integrity, with people who care about they work they do and the relationships they cultivate with our district.

I have worked with a variety of electrical and energy service providers over many years of school business. I have found the top companies are fairly competitive in term of technical expertise. However, Veregy [Formerly Urban Energy Solutions] clearly separates itself from the pack when looking at the quality of the service. We had one instance where an old building that was crowded over capacity lose power. We scrambled trying to figure out how and where we could relocate students. We called Veregy as our go-to for support in this area, and they were at the campus within the hour. They got us back up and running, and school was able to return to normal. In another instance, we had a project that called for an impossible deadline. Several providers told us they couldn’t meet the timeline and in their expert opinion, no one could! Veregy accepted the challenge and completed the project on time and with impeccable results. We have been more than impressed with its service, expertise, attention to detail, and comprehension of what it takes to be a true business partner.
